Charita Rabaza - Founder
Charita was inspired to create the RiMel line of greeting cards while shopping in several of the major department store chains. It was during these excursions that she realized there were no alternative greeting cards that addressed the multiracial community and interracial relationships.
"Whether people want to admit it or not, this segment of our society is only going to continue to grow. I can't believe that in the twenty-first century, all of the major players have chosen to completely ignore this ever changing demographic of our society. The need is there and the time is now for RiMel greeting cards."
Charita has been married for 10 years to her husband who is of Italian and Cuban decent and has two children.
Melba Bossi - Founder
Prior to starting RiMel with Charita, Melba had developed a keen interest in marketing products to the multiracial community and had started developing product ideas with friends. These other products may at some future point become new lines of RiMel offerings. Melba thinks greeting cards for multiracial families are a great way to start off RiMel.
Melba believes that people buying cards for multiracial individuals tend to be limited to either choosing a card showing a person of inappropriate race or to choosing cards with inanimate objects or pets. Melba feels that this situation masks the identity of multi-racial people who should have cards representative of themselves.
"We need cards that have multiracial content."
Melba has been married for over 11 years and has three children.
